This collection contains 3.5 inch x 3.5 inch black-and-white photographs (1954-1956) of jazz performers, including Joe Newman, Billy Byers, Jimmy McPartland, Sam Price, Ruby Bruff, Eddie Bert, Ben Webster, Tony Parenti, and Mary Lou Williams. There are also photographs of the 1955 Newport Jazz festival with performances by Dinah Washington, Count Basie, the Chet Baker Quintet, and the Marian McPartland Trio.

This collection contains approximately one hundred twenty-five photographic prints of individual musicians. The majority of the prints are black-and-white and include candid, performance, and portrait shots of performers including Barry Altshul, Joe Beck, Oliver Beener, Randy Brecker, Randy Weston, Joanne Brackeen, Dave Burrell, and Pee Wee Erwin. This collection contains personal letters, articles, reviews, and ephemera related to Davison's life and career. There are also photographs, memorabilia, and an original metal case containing books of orchestral band parts. The oversized box houses newspapers and photocopies of newspaper articles. The are photographs of jazz bands and a trip to Japan, as well as, images of Davison and his wife Anne.
