Scope and Contents

This collection contains papers, commercial lead sheets, song books, and audio recordings. The recordings include four reels, two audio discs, and one cassette. The papers consist of business correspondence, as well as papers related to Gabler's membership in the New York Sheet Music Society and the Songwriters Hall of Fame. There are also playbills, artist discographies, and catalogs. The bulk of the collection involves published sheet music from the early 19th century. There are lead sheets, Gabler compositions, and music by other composers with several rare covers.
